Medicine Tips
Even though you have high blood pressure, you may feel fine. Or, because you feel no different after taking your medicine, you may think it's not working. But that's not true. If your physician is giving you medicine, it's to help control your blood pressure. Medicine can only help you get better when it's taken according to your doctor's instructions.
Your doctor can answer any questions you might have. He or she can also reassure you that taking your medicine as directed will lead to a lower blood pressure level. High blood pressure has no noticeable symptoms, so the only way to tell if your medicine is working is to have your blood pressure tested.
Sometimes people don't take their medicines as they should because of cost or confusing instructions. Or, they don't understand how a medicine works or dislike its side effects. However, not taking your medicine as prescribed will prevent you from controlling your blood pressure effectively.
If, for any reason, you're not taking your medicine as directed, talk to your doctor. He or she can help you overcome any problems you're experiencing.
